  1. The characters are actually pretty unique and consistent, and not as annoying as most of these kinds of novels. I don't get often-repeated descriptions of the main characters beauty either (they're good looking, yeah, but it's just something mentioned once in a while). There's also an overarching plot here, which is always a plus for me, instead of just endless face-slapping--that just gets old after a while. I've reached Ch 117, and the only downside I've seen (for me) is when the MC (the heroine) felt disappointed by the ML and just...keeps it to herself until he tries to dig it out sometime later. Yeah, sure thing mate, expecting someone you're interested in to be able to read your mind would do _wonders_ for freaking communication. Don't get me wrong, it was his fault, and he was an idiot there, but the least she could do is actually give him a metaphorical whack to the head about it. Heck, she can even do it physically, her life was literally in danger there when he suddenly ran off in the middle of the forest and told her to stay put. This is probably just a small stumbling block in the grand scheme of things, but it might be a bit of a pet peeve for me there because I'm the kind of person who'd be frustrated if my potential partner expects me to read minds/be psychic. I'd just fail epically.

  2. It's still pretty consistent with what her character is at the beginning, though; a poor orphan raised by her uncle. Her lack of self-esteem about her own value makes sense. I guess I just can't really how it's written her for too long before I feel itchy like I want to punch somebody.
