He bought all the advanced books because he knew what would happen and he didnt want to go to school in "deatheater hogwarts" later and the first thing he does isnt studying/practicing but going around and writing/publishing a school newspaper.
A small recap of the first year: he ignores all hints on who might have the diary. learns from the diary and almost gets manipulated. finally decidesto hand over the diary and coincidentially forgets the diary that he always kept with him in the !common room! so that the first posessed person can take it back... its just lazy writing.

Great! The mc is the type of guy that helps everyone🙄 og plot got tossed out of the window. I mean who would want to know the future, when you can change eveything and render your knowledge of the future useless?owh! and if you ever felt that you're useless, you're probably right! MC started his own newspaper company on his first day of school!

Every time Evan in dangerous situation Hermione will run to him and hug him just like a burden, I hate this type of writing, why every Female lead need to be acting like this!!??
