Interesting. Sadly dropped at chapter 51. You can understand half of what's happening the other half it's lost in translation or maybe it's just the writer who doesn't make sense to write a story so illogical.

My first impressions of this novel is that the setting feels more like a Japanese light novel than a Chinese one. You know, fancy private school with pseudo-European vibes and implicit aristocracy? The student council president has way more power than a simple school organisation has any right to be? Gothic architecture here and there? Yep, that hits all the spot. I find the MC with her 'perfect student' appearance and a hidden well of blackened thoughts inside (and more creepy dolls around her than is probably healthy) to be pretty interesting as a main character, so I'm definitely hooked.
Chapter 31 so far, here to update my impressions. I'm enjoying this novel so far because the characters are complex even as they are perverted. (Random clue: metamorphosis is translated as 变态 (Biàntài) in Chinese, guess what Biàntài is also translated as in English? Abnormal. In other words, it is easily pervert (n.) or perverted (adj.)). Mo Rulan's previous life experience has blackened her, and she will gladly turn anyone who fights against her into dolls. But she's also kind enough not to have any grudges against people who harmed her in her previous life, as long as they haven't moved against her in this life. Her approach is 'be a nice dear, follow my lead and I'll take care of you as I would for all my minions. If you still go against me this time, though, I'll put you down in a way you'll regret'. This balanced approach of carrot and stick is why one of her younger twin brothers is a sis-con, and the other is desperately trying to hide the fact that he has an unnatural crush/obsession on her. To be fair, I don't think she'd care if she knew--she _wanted_ them to be her obedient wolfhounds in this life, as they had stood against her on the fake white lotus b*tch in her last life. The ML has an intensely abnormal interest in criminal psychology, and at the beginning is convinced that she's guilty but he just hasn't gotten enough evidence for it. His friend is convinced he's just creeping on Mo Rulan. I find it low-key amusing because I know she doesn't consider him a threat to her at all.
At Chapter 38. Damn, MC is actually more like a female Dexter than a random serial killer? This is interesting. I want to see more of the MC's cat-and-mouse games with the profiler ML, but it's interrupted by the school life segments due to the fake-white-lotus new stepsister. Urgh, boring. Let's see if I can speed read through these segments.
