For someone who enjoys the Chinese webnovel “My House of Horrors” I can see the the similarities right away with the first couple of cases the MC takes. Like the Haunted village which also takes place in the “My House of Horrors” but only happen in the middle of the whole plot but this happen almost at the beginning. I like this novel due to being like the latter but has a feature of ghost guilds, ghost hunter and a bad ass Mc. The character start out strong and get stronger but doesn’t have the arrogance of strong character more humble but is not afraid to kill. 10/10 so far.
You might say he does stupid things but if you at the similarities of the webnovel “only I level up” you can see that their are guild and in this book instead of portal monster there are ghost, instead of dungeon there are ghost domains and ghost out breaks. Just like the Mc in both “only I level up” and this novel they have to show their straight in order to gain respect. The Mc in “only I level up” was looked as too powerful and even the guild were out to destroy the Mc just like this novel. The Mc in “level up” held his ground and won in order to gain respect. Don’t compare “my house of horror” and this novel on how the Mc should be “mysterious” and “safe” while being “powerful.” The consequences of showing power in “house of horrors” is that your have normal mortal with guns, who can still kill the Mc due to him not having super natural power to go against them except for his red Spector wife. However in this novel the Main character and the Mc in “only I level up” have to carry themselves differently than “My house of horrors” due to the power to fight ghost it not exclusive the the main character but to other groups in the story such as ghost guild and hunter guilds. My point is that though this novel is similar to “my house of horrors” the way the character should progress themselves in their environment is totally different and is shaped due to the power balance being not exclusive to the main character as the protagonist has many contenders than “my house of horrors” in the power gap of competition in a guild oriented dungeon like novel.
The novel got boring fast.

So is the Mc just resistant to ghosts? or mentally incapacitated and that why he always act with a lack of common sense? Also his 3rd encounter with ghosts reminds me of the village bride in 'my house of horrors' like same plot but a Mc that is op and kind of out of place?
MC is an idiot, he actually use 'devouring' ability on ghost in front of other people thus making them scared. Did he not think of the consequences in case he's being treated as monsters thus being wanted? Clearly he can use his ability when there's no people in the surrounding. Just another scene where author want to make funny plot about people being scared by MC but failed greatly. Instead it's only give retard impressions for readers.
Maybe mc deliberately does it to feel wanted because chinese parents are always disappointed in their kids.
