at ch 20 i will keep updating as i go. at the start there is already so many issues, first he got sent out of the gang to do chores but when he was learning the meditation the guy said that as long as they the new recruits achieved small success within 10 days they would be considered inner disciples and 30 days is outer. he basically got it done in like 5 i don't understand why he is still camping out at the restaurant doing chores. next him raising his stats this guy has 0 brain cells literally he raised the meditation to the max right away, then proceeds to go like now i can't show my cultivation cuz "i'm too fkn genius." like why did u go raise it all at once then literal dumbass. later for the same reason he goes like my cultivation too high so now i can't reveal myself like lets not even mention how this statement itself conflicts with the first issue, just plain stupid. last he basically walks through a alleyway and it just so happens those famous bandits are attacking one of the families and ends up killing them and idiot mc proceeds to walk in and pick up a immortal cultivation method???????? like what. literally spells plot armor all over it.
ch240 update - so far i can't see any major plotlines, most of the conflict in this so far is "you killed my disciple prepare to die" rinse and repeat. the world building is also lacking so far we only know of the existence of a town and 2 county which the mc came from and one of which he is heading to, and a kingdom. aside from this we know very little about the actual world he is in like. next the upgrading system, its very general just like what you expect from other novels nothing new, but for whatever reason the author at the beginning of the novel starting using numbers in the thousands for the soul energy so now the number has geometrically scaled up into the hundreds of thousands its really hard to even tell if those upgrades are worth that much or the author is just shitting out numbers on his keyboard. the author should have just used like 1 or 10s at the start. last the cultivation system is a fkn shitshow, theres external refining, internal refining, internal qi , now theres also a fkn immortal cultivation its literally a mess, also immortal cultivation is basically superior in all ways as far as i can see currently which makes martial cultivation pointless unless you got no other choice. oh also i didn't get to it but the author did mention some crap about the unification of martial and immortal into immortal martial method soon in the novel hopefully that would alleviate this issue i hope.
ch 460 , probably going to be my last update for this as i will be dropping this. the novel doesn't get any better as you go on. the plot just like before is the same rinse and repeat its basically him doing anything and offending someone and then they basically fight. theres no major plot line/story going on its basically him running around trying to get more resources to get stronger but like some people have mentioned theres never a credible motivational factor behind this urge aside from " i need to get strong because theres monsters and shit in this world" from the start. also the powerups or whatever you want to call them they are often way too coincidental it just so happens they almost are always before a big fight happens. last but probably the one biggest gaping issue with this is the actual cultivation system itself. theres basically 2 major systems the martial and immortal however its basically been shown and infered that the immortal system is superior in pretty much all aspects which makes the martial system kind of useless as i mentioned previously. however on top of that we also have the issue where theres little to no distinction between the system ex when he cultivated the chaoyang school immortal art he learned a immortal sword technique called the chaoyang sword, now his martial system he also has sword techniques well then what is the difference? at least at the start there were minor differences like oh you can use talismans but now the line just becomes more and more blurred. also i mentioned in last post about the fusion of the two yeah basically nothing of significance came out of that.

I started reading this novel and at the first chapter I immediately felt a déjà vu because there is a manhua of this novel.

A certain chapter in 90~ is completely missing, the number of chapters is 874 not 804, so the number is wrong as well. The book is alright, for me at least.

The issue I have with this novel (chapter 124) is that the mc discover a lot of evil plots/people and he has many opportunities to tell the town leaders to take care of it or at least warn them about things like evil immortals but he just let bad things take place to appear as the hero who saves the day. Take yourself for example if you know about evil behind the scene manipulator among the people raiding the mountain bandits won't you at least warn the leaders? he do nothing! The author make the MC a douche who only want to get soul points.

I agree with you regarding MC's problem of hiding facts. I didn't think much of it before as those things didn't made an intersection with his life but then because of it his own master died in front of his eyes. Really wanted to thrash this MC. Now I only hope that MC improve upon it as u said.
The above said problem really did improve. And this novel is so much better than those pretending or faceslapping MCs.
